2023

SABBATICAL

I had 2023 all planned out ministry wise.... and then....

I was visiting my parent's church at the end of 2022 and had a conversation with a lady from the church. "Zac, when was the last time you had a Sabbatical?" she asked. I paused for a few seconds and replied... "I haven't."

God used this conversation to hit me like a ton of bricks. I founded Overflow Ministries a decade ago and have never taken a Sabbatical! No wonder I've felt weary. Given that many people burn out or quit the ministry, it's of the utmost importance that we as followers of Christ and especially those called to lead, learn how to abide in the rhythm of Sabbath that God has ordained.

I'm incredibly excited about the year ahead and all that God will do in me to refresh, renew, recharge and empower me for the years ahead. Just as the ground needs to lay fallow to replenish its nutrients, so we need times of rest to seek God, pray, fellowship, and receive from others. This year I'm pulling back from all public ministry to travel, write, pray, fellowship and receive from other leaders in the Body of Christ.

follow the journey

I will post regular video updates via YouTube and Facebook.

Follow along the journey as I travel across the USA this year and hear what God is speaking and revealing.

Pray for me.

I am specifically seeking fresh direction for the ministry.

I need a team of at least four people to help support me in this ministry. (Finance, media, secretary, legal)

I need more financial sponsors and resources to continue for the long haul.

I want to finish writing my book.

I want to memorize more of the Word of God and get through the Bible at least once this year.

I want to develop new friendships and ministry connections across the USA as God leads.

I would like to meet my wife this year.

I would like for God to provide me with a house this year.

My Itinerary

I will be traveling to Washington state, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, down through the Carolinas to Florida, then back across the South of the US until I return to California.
